Stamping and e?n,bossin.q,; angular bending; punching.-In a combined machine for shearing and also bending, stamping, embossing, or punching sheet metal, the movable stamping or other die is mounted on a screwed tube operated by a handle so as to screw through a hollow column fixed to a base carrying the support for the fixed die, and a ring-shaped shearing-die is carried by one or more spring-controlled cams surrounding the column, which are actuated by cams carried by a hand-wheel. The fixed die 8 is secured to an L-shaped jaw 2 which is clamped by a nut 4 and screw 3 to a base 1 fixed to a table or support, a positioning-pin 5 engaging holes in the jaw and base. Secured by projecting lugs and screws to recesses in the base 1 is a hollow internally screwed column 10, which receives a screwed tube 14 with collar 15 and reduced end and a die 13. The die is screwed to a rod 17 which is clamped at its other end to an operating- handle 16 on the tube 14 for performing the stamping or like operation. The ring die 19 is carried by a ring cam 21, having two similar camsurfaces at its upper end, 'and reciprocated by a similar carn 26 carried by a hand-wheel 27 separated by a ball bearing 30 from a thrust cap 31 secured to the column. The cam 21 is slotted to embrace the lugs on the column and is also provided with pins 23 passing through guide-slots 29 in a sleeve 28, the pins being engaged by springs 24 so as to return the ring die on completion of the movement or return of the handle 27. A pair of stops 32 are provided for positioning the sheet.
