Abstract

172,047. Green, C. March 21, 1921. Spring wheels.- Relates to wheels of the type in which pneumatic cushions are interposed between the hub and the outer part of the wheel and the drive is taken by leather members connected to the two parts. In one e construction, Fig. 2, the pnenmatic cushions c, c<1>, c<2> are annular and the leather bands b for transmitting the drive are also annular and of U-shape in sections. I n another construction Fig. 4, the cushioni n and driving members are a r - ranged axially around the hub. In a further construction, Fig. 3, the driving-members c, c' are in the form of short radially-disposed tubes containing the pneumatic cushions. In all cases guiding-plates m<1> are provided to give lateral stability. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 24204/95, 18526/04, and 19876/11.
