Abstract

Ice - making, plate systems and apparatus and apparatus for.-A number of compartments h are formed in a freezing - tank a by removable plates g, Fig. 7, enclosing flat freezing-grids d, e, Fig. 3, supported by vertical columns b arranged in pairs, the cross divisions being formed by similar plates enclosing brine coils i. Preferably interlaced expansion and brine coils d, e are employed but expansion coils or brine coils alone may be used. The uprights b are provided with recesses c, Fig. 8, so that when assembled in pairs they embrace and support the horizontal stretches of the pipe coils. The plates g are slid from the top into grooves f in the uprights, the grooves being slightly inclined so as to produce tapering compartments. For thawing- off, warm brine may be circulated through the brine coils i. The pipes i at the bottom of the compartments are covered by floor plates k. The ends of the outer compartments are completed by single plates g.
