Abstract

170,736. Fisher, H. F. Sept. 7, 1920. Attachments for milling; milling-cutters. - A milling-attachment for a shaping-machine has a flanged base to fit the machine guideway, in which it is secured by a wedge 2, Fig. 4, actuated by a screw 6 after the tool-head of the machine has been pushed back. The cutter 32 is carried by a shaft 28 and is positioned by nuts 30, 34 and distance-sleeves 31. The shaft 28 is supported at its outer end in a bearing 25 carried by a spindle 20 clamped to the head, and its inner end fits into a socket in a shaft 9 driven by worm gearing from a shaft 12 carrying a cone on which the belt of the shaping-machine runs.
