170,558. Metropolitan - Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Schmidt, H. F.). Oct. 22, 1920. Conveyer - apparatus, ejector.-Relates to steam - actuated ejectors for withdrawing condensate from the hot-well of a condenser and discharging at a higher pressure to a feedwater heater or ether receptacle, and consists in overcoming the difficulty of starting, when there is a considerable vacuum in the condenser and the condensate is at high temperature, by conducting the overflow to an auxiliary steam-operated ejector which will return the overflow to the condenser. Condensate from the hotwell 11 of the condenser 10 is delivered by an ejector 27, preferably operated by exhaust steam from non-condensing auxiliaries, to a discharge conduit 17 with non-return valve 18. From the usual overflow chamber 19 between the combining and delivery cones 15, 16 of the diffuser, liquid is withdrawn by means of the auxiliary ejector 22. supplied with exhaust steam, and is delivered through a conduit 26 to the top of the condenser.
