Abstract

170,366. Boerner, A. July 15, 1920. Propelling; steering.-The propeller shaft 5, which is mounted in a casing adapted to be rotated about an axis at right-angles to the longitudinal axis of the airship, is permanently inclined to a plane at right-angles to the axis of rotation of the casing. The propeller is driven from a motor shaft 2 through bevel gearing 3, 4; and the casing 7 may be rotated from the same shaft by gearing 10, 11, 13 and a pinion 14 which can be put in gear by an electric switch device 15.
