169,782. B³chele, A. June 29, 1920. Building-blocks, special shapes of.-Relates to constructions of simple and compound hollow building blocks so that they may be used together in building a wall. Fig. 1 shows a simple block having a rib 1 and groove 2 while the upper and lower surfaces are provided with beadings 3 and grooves 4 respectively. To prevent fracture, the base of the rib 1 is shaped as shown. In a compound block, Fig. 5, the ribs are spaced apart a distance equal to that between the ribs of two simple blocks placed side by side. The connecting-ribs 6 may be of various shapes and are preferably offset as shown, in order to increase the path of heat conduction. Fig. 3 shows a course of a wall having simple and compound blocks and also a special shape of block 5 for the corners.
