Abstract
168,924. Holt, H. E. S. March 12, 1920. Hooks, automatic-release. .-In an apparatus for controlling the descent of articles from aircraft, the load is suspended from a casing by ropes v, v<1> attached to the outer ends of hooked levers u, u<1> pivoted at, u<2> to the casing. A trip lever u<5> on the inner hooked end of the lever u engages a loop on the parachute rope. When the load touches the ground, the pull on the ropes v, v<1> is relaxed and the parachute released from the casing.
