Abstract

168,242. Parks, A. G. Aug. 14, 1920. Ball and float valves.-A ball float valve is constructed with the float lever on the opposite side of the discharge nozzle to that of the outlet, and the plug is readily detachable. The nozzle 11 is formed of two parts at right-angles, the horizontal part being attached to the supply pipe, and also to the cistern by a collar 12 and nut 13. The ball lever 15 is pivoted on a split pin 16 between two lugs 14. The valve clcsure member comprises a plug portion with a seating 20, having lugs 18 which slide between guides 17. Holes 21 intersecting the central bore of the plug are bored upwards, and water is discharged through them when the plug is lowered. The plug is lifted by the lever 15 by means of the pin 22, and is detachable without removing the lever, when the pin 22 is withdrawn.
