Abstract
168,103. Boccacini, B. April 21, 1920. Catches for hinged pins.-The catch for the hinged pin of a brooch &c. 10 is made from a sheet-metal blank of the form shown in Fig. 8, and bent along the broken lines 18 so as to form two wings, slightly flared as shown in Fig. 5. Between the two wings is pivoted a keeper member 16, Figs. 3 and 4, which when in the closed position, Fig. 3, retains the pin 11 in the opening 20, but may be rotated about its pivot 23 to release the pin. Grooves 24 at the lower edges of the wings of the catch engage ribs 25, Figs. 4 and 5, on the keeper 16 to retain it in the closed position, while a projection 27, Fig. 3, enables the catch to be easily released by the thumb or finger nail.
