167,791. Pericarp Syndicate, Ltd., and Trevor, E. W. J. Feb. 19, 1920. Decorticating.-A machine for removing the pericarp from palm fruit &c. comprises a series of bars M<2> arranged on the surface of a cylinder M or on a belt so as to be capable of rapid motion through a chamber K arranged at one side of the path of the bars and containing the material under treatment. The bars M<2> coact with a baffle-board L which is adjustable vertically and in inclination, being hinged to a plate which is secured by bolts passing through slots. The material is stirred and fed forward by fingers or projections H<1> on an endless belt H.
