Abstract
166,825. Baxter, A. J. P. July 29, 1920. Drilling-machines. -- A portable drilling, boring, or like machine D of the electrical or other type is rigidly supported on telescopic members A, B, slidably carrying a counterbalancing weight E with cords f attached to the members D, E, and running over pulleys f<1>, f<2>. The whole apparatus is suspended in a readilv detachable manner on the hook and eye h, g, and can be easily swung aside when, for example, it is desirable to make room for the passage of tea chests, into which holes are bored to take samples. If desired, two counterbalance weights E, or only one pair of telescopic members may be used
