Abstract

Stop-motions.-In a carding-engine, when the sliver breaks between the delivery rollers and the coiler, a weighted pivoted detector b moves over and brings a weighted arm t into position to be engaged by a rod p, reciprocated by a cam or eccentric k on the spindle of the barrow pinion, and so release the catch f and allow the barrow lever g to fall to stop the doffer. A catch u is provided to hold the detector in position until the carding-engine is restarted.
