Abstract
165,631. Raleigh Cycle Co., Ltd., and Bowden, H. May 20, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Mud-guards. - A rear-wheel mud-guard for motor-cycles having spring frames is formed of two independent front and rear portions capable of relative movement, so as to avoid damage due to relative movements of the articulated parts of the spring frame to which the guard is secured. The rear portion A extends forwards to a point C, and is secured at H to the upper ends of the vertical frame members E. which support the carrier G and connect the free ends of the pivoted stays D to the free ends of the springs F. The rear portion A is also secured to the rear of the carrier G by one or more vertical stays J, and to the frame members E by a pair of horizontal stays K. The front portion B of the guard overlaps the rear portion A, and is secured to the stays D at M and connected by diagonal stays N to the free ends of the stays D.
