Grilling-stoves; casings.- A grilling-apparatus comprises a chamber having side walls 5, rear wall 22 and roof 25 formed separately of fire-brick, together with heating - elements, heated by gas, spirit, oil, electricity, &c. arranged against the inside faces of the side walls, which, with the heating-elements, are adjustable towards and from each other. In the apparatus shown the side walls and heating-elements slide upon a grid 14 forming the floor of the chamber by means of a screwed shaft 6 operated by a hand-wheel 11 and carrying nuts 7 connected by links 8 to the castings 9 carrying the side walls. The rear wall is formed in two sliding portions. The waste gases pass through an opening 27 in the roof and beneath a hot-plate 28 forming the floor of a hot chamber arranged above the stove. The heating- elements shown comprise a metal casing 2 filled with refractory material and having gas burners 3 beneath. The food to be grilled is held in a device, Figs. 5 and 6, comprising two sides 34 of wirework hinged together at 35 and supported at the rear by means of a spike 36 which enters one of the holes in a bar 33, amd at the front by a chain. In a modification, food carriers are passed through the stove on an endless chain. An inclined drip-pan 44 discharges into a gutter along the front of the stove.
