Abstract

Solidifying and then removing films.-A machine for freezing ice-cream &c. of the kind comprising a rotary internally-cooled drum A on which the cream &c. is spread in a film, is provided with a detachable scraper E, which may be traversed along the drum by hand or otherwise to deal with the material on any part of the drum surface. The material is supplied from a removable hopper C having an adjustable outlet controlled by a door C' formed with a deflecting lip C<2>, and is spread by a weighted or spring-mounted roller D. The scraper E is slidably and detachably mounted on an adjustable guide-rod F which is narrowed at one part to allow a gapped part of the scraper to pass over it. The material falls into a dished receptacle G having a discharge opening G<1>.
