Abstract
165,046. Kand¾, K. June 10, 1918, [Convention date]. Armatures and field magnets, cooling; insulation.-The stator windings E of high-tension machines are insulated and cooled by oil contained in the stator casing F and separated from the rotor by an axial tube D passing completely through the stator chamber over the pole faces S and secured at both ends by stuffing-boxes G. The tube may be of paper impregnated with a phenol condensation product or other non-conducting material, and preferably has an internal bore which permits the rotor to be withdrawn without disturbing the rest of the machine. The tube may also be withdrawn independently of the rotor. For removal of the rotor, the inner wedge ring H is withdrawn, the outer ring I being of suitlciently large bore to allow passage of the rotor. An extension L of the stator casing contains tubes for cooling-oil or water.
