The hinge pin a<1> can then be inserted readily in or lifted out of the socket members. By operating the handle f<4>, as by lifting the closet seat, the radial slots are moved out of alignment and the pin is secured in the assembled position. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the attachment plate g has a pivot pin g' which engages in a sleeve i formed with flanges i<2>, one on each side of the socket plate h. By rotating the sleeve i to move the slots i<3> into alignment with the slot h', the pivot pin may be lifted out of the socket or bearing member. The sleeve i has a knob i<4>, and its movement is limited by a stop pin h<3>.
