Plates, films, and papers.-In the preparation of a stripping substratum for photographic films used in transfer processes, a solution of an emulsion-hardening agent, such as chrome-alum, is applied to the temporary base, and dried so as to leave the hardening-agent ready for action on the emulsion when the latter is applied. An antigreasing ingredient, such as a solution of Quillaia Bark, may be included; also glycerine and alcohol or methylated spirit. Two examples of solutions containing the above-mentioned ingredients are given. The coating may be applied to a waxed paper base.
