Abstract

163,031. Bosch, Akt.-Ges., R. May 3, 1920, [Convention date]. Brush-holders; casings; terminals and accessories, arrangement on machine. - A voltage regulator g, Figs. 1 and 2, and an electromagnetic cut-in switch g<1> for a vehicle-lighting or other dynamo are joined together both mechanically and electrically at the ends by means of two conducting bars h, i so that they form a unit which can be readily mounted upon or removed from the dynamo casing c. The parts g, g<1> are fixed to the casing c by means of recessed clamping members m, o which are forced together to grip the parts g, g<1> by means of a screw p; the lower member m is secured to the dynamo casing by bolts n. The leads from the regulator and the switch are joined to the brush-holders e, e<1> by means of screws f, f<1>; the brush-holders are attached to inclined sides of the casing c. The rear bar i is formed with a lug k which is connected electrically to the top part a of the casing by means of a screw l. The circuit-connections are shown in Fig. 3. The moving cores 17, 18 of both the cut-in switch and the regulator serve as switch contacts co-operating at their ends with stationary contacts 13, 14 and 15, 16 respectively. The voltage is regulated by connecting periodicallv a resistance t in series with the dynamo exciting coils r; at excess speeds, contacts are made which short-circuit the coils r.
