Cylinders, internal passage of.-The baffle on the head of the piston is so constructed as to form an inlet passage that gradually increases in area from the inlet port onwards, and to form an exhaust passage that its area remains uniform or increases as the ports are approached. The sides of the baffle are straight or concave rather than convex.
