Abstract

Ammonia is extracted from gases such as producer gas by passing them over a dry product containing aluminium sulphate obtained by burning shale or other aluminous material such as clay together with sulphur or a material which on burning yields a sulphur oxide; or a sulphur-bearing shale may be burnt alone. The product obtained by the absorption of ammonia is suitable for use as a manure.ALSO:Aluminium sulphate is obtained by burning shale or other aluminous material such as clay together with sulphur or a material which on burning yields a sulphur oxide; or a sulphur-bearing shale may be burnt alone. The product is used for absorbing ammonia from gases.
