Curving.-In a machine in which a metal strip f, Fig. 3, is bent by the successive action of two rollers a, b, and especially in a machine for bending wheel rims adapted to receive pneumatic tyres, a guide e .is placed between the rollers a, b, in order to ensure that the entering end of the strip is bent to the correct curvature. The rear edge e<3> of the guide touches the roller a, and the forward edge e<5> may touch the roller b. The upper surface of the guide may be of the curvature to which the strip f is to be bent, or may be of a slightly flatter curvature. The guide may be free to rock, for which purpose it may be formed with a semi-cylindrical surface e<6> supported in a chair g. The upper surface of the guide may be provided with rollers h, Figs. 3 and 4, and the sides of the guide may conform to the section of the strip f, and be fitted with rollers i.
