Abstract
314,387. Mannesmannr÷hren-Werke. June 26, 1928, [Convention date]. Rolling tubes.-In pilger-rolling, finishing or smoothing rollers b are mounted immediately in the rear of the gapped rolls a so that the finishing operation may be carried out without reheating the work. The finishing rollers are automatically separated to permit feed and twist of the work, by mounting the finishing rollers in spring- pressed levers p which are oscillated by cams n mounted on shafts o which are rocked by linkage driven by a crank on one of the gapped-roll shafts. The finishing rolls may be duplicated, one pair acting on a part of the tube supported by the mandrel d, Fig. 5.
