Abstract

Hoof-supporting packing; renewable hooffitting surfaces.-A bar or bridge-piece i provided to support the frog is secured in position on the shoe by a band c shaped to fit the inner periphery of the shoe, the ends of the band being provided with springs o, Fig. 1, to press the bridge-piece against the inside of the heel parts of the shoe, or the resilience of the band may give the desired pressure. The end parts of the bridgepiece are bifurcated to fit the shoe, the. lower bifurcation o being thickest to form a wearing- surface, whilst the middle part may be hollowed out at j, Fig. 3, to fit the frog, an extension k being formed in some cases also for that purpose. The reduced ends f of the band c may pass either through the passage between the bifurcations as shown in Fig. 1, or into conical holes s, Fig. 22, in the bridge-piece. The band c may 'be further provided with an extension at the toe forming a wearing part d and a clip e as shown in Fig. 11.
