Abstract

160,130. Clench, E. C, S. Nov. 13, 1920. Direct air-pressure apparatus, automatic.-A vessel D, submerged in the liquid to be raised, is provided with a non-return filling-valve D', an air-supply pipe C and a delivery pipe F sufficiently small to allow the liquid to be delivered as a solid column, the air following it. Air is supplied slowly through a regulating-valve C' to eject the liquid. When this has been effected, air escapes through the delivery pipe and the pressure in the chamber is reduced to about that of the atmosphere, allowing the chamber to be re-filled through the valve D', whereon the delivery begins again.
