Abstract

160,084. Kubec, C. F. March 25, 1920. Self-driving machines.-In an horizontal rotary cage is mounted a set of shafts 5, each of which protrudes from one of the end discs 2 to gear with a small wheel 8 loose on a projecting stub 9 which bears a loose pinion 13 in gear with a stationary wheel 14. The small wheel being combined with a clutch, when the stub is passing over the top of the stationary wheel, a radial lever 11 operated by a cam 15 thereon shifts the small wheel so that it turns with the pinion and imparts a few revolutions to the shaft 5. Between each shaft and the one on the other side of the cage is provided a slotted weight 6, which is connected to the shafts by cords 20, 21. When the shaft at the top of the stationary wheel turns, it draws up the weight from the shaft at the bottom, and a catch (not shown) locks the shaft from reversal after the lever 11 has left the cam 15.
