Abstract

The circulating support belt of the conveyor dish-washing machine system has carriers for the trays or food plates to be washed. Connected ahead of the support belt is a feed transporting belt (1) for feeding in the trays or food plates to be washed. In order that trays or food plates of different dimensions can be held securely and transported on the feed transporting belt (1), the feed transporting belt (1) is fitted with suction cups (3) to hold the trays (2) or food plates placed on it. <IMAGE>

Description

(54) A RINSING APPARATUS (71) We, KUPPERSBUSCH AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT of Küppers- buschstrasse 16, 4650 Gelsenkirchen, Federal Republic of Germany, a joint stock company organised under the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany do hereby declare the invention, for which we pray that a patent may be granted to us, and the method by which it is to be performed, to be particularly described in and by the following statement: The present invention relates to a rinsing apparatus especially for rinsing crockery.
In known belt crockery rinsing machine plants, guide rails are associated with the feed transport belt and prevent the trays or the like lying on the feed transport belt from dropping-down or laterally sliding-off.
However, to ensure a trouble-free operation, only trays of like size can as a rule be used in this plant.
According to the invention there is provided a rinsing apparatus comprising transport belt means to convey articles to be rinsed and a carrier belt, which is provided with entrainers for the articles to be rinsed and which is disposed downstream of the transport belt means, the transport belt means being provided with suction cups to retain articles conveyed thereon and with a plurality of strap members each extending between a respective one of the suction cups and the transport belt means so as to detach the respective suction cup from the article upon deflection of the transport belt means in the region of the respective suction cups.
The suction cups may be tandemly arranged on the transport belt means.
Preferably, the suction cups may be arranged on the transport belt means in such a manner as to constitute a plurality of groups of suction cups.
Advantageously, trays or the like of different dimensions (height, length, width) may be securely retained and transported thereon. Thus, the trays on the feed transport belt cannot slip during the transport and also trays of different size or dimensions may be securely transported.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be more particularly described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing.
The rinsing apparatus is provided with a circulating carrier belt, wherein the carrier belt is provided with entrainers for the articles such as trays, food plates or the like to be rinsed and a feed transport belt for feeding forward the trays, food plates or the like to be rinsed is connected upstream of the carrier belt.
Referring to the drawing, there is shown only partially a circulating feed transport belt 1, connected upstream of a rinsing machine (not shown). The transport belt 1 serves for the feeding forward of the trays 2 to be rinsed, which are put automatically into the rinsing machine in a known manner. To prevent the trays 2 laid onto the feed transport belt 1 from slipping and, beyond that, to enable also trays of different dimensions to be securely transported, the feed transport belt 1 is provided with suction cups 3, which, preferably, consist of rubber.
The suction cups may be arranged in a plurality or in groups of small suction cups or as individual large suction cups lying behind one another as shown in the drawing. With individual large suckers or suction cups, it is expedient to mount on these cups a strap 4, which is retained on the feed transport belt and which on deflection of the feed transport belt detaches the suction cup 3 from the underside of the tray 2. With proposed group arrangement of small suction cups, the deflection of the feed transport belt 1 alone suffices for detaching the cups from the underside of the tray 2.
