Piston packing. - Cupleather packing is made of oil-proof, i.e. hard rubber with layers of coarse woven wire or other fabric 1 completely embedded therein, the rubber passing through the meshes of the fabric. Preferably each layer of fabric is united with a sheet of rubber by rolling, and layers of the compound fabric are then superposed, cupped and vulcanized.
