Abstract

158,451. Rowley, H. H. Dec. 22, 1919. Roofs, slating.-In clips for slates used in repairing roofs of the kind provided with teeth to snap over the upper edge of a batten on the roof, the teeth d<2> - - d<5> are arranged one behind the other so that any one may engage the batten and so obviate careful adjustment on the slate. The clip a is attached to the slate by means of tongues c which pass through slits in the slate and are turned over. The teeth may be as shown, or each tooth may be replaced by two or more abreast. The clip may be made from a single length of wire which is bent to provide teeth or prongs and also to grip the slate.
