Wire strainers. - Relates to lever strainers, and consists in providing parallel-jawed wireclamping means, whereby injury to the wire is avoided. The drawing clamp a and holding clamp b have each parallel jaws, normally forced together by springs e, acting through link-work p, m, carrying the jaws by means of pivots l. Extensions of these links upon one side form hand levers f, whereby the clamps may be opened for insertion of the wire, and subsequently closed. Locking catches h prevent the slipping out of the wire from the clamps during stretching, and there is an abutment k for the holding clamp.
