Abstract

154,767. Dean, H. J., and Redmayne, W. Oct. 21, 1919. Fusible cut-outs; bases.-A distribution fuse board is constructed with a number of insulating base blocks set side by side, the meeting edges of which have recesses which co-operate to form slots for the entry of the contact blades of fuse bridges, all bus bars and contacts being thereby enclosed. Two such base blocks may be held together in any convenient way to form a base for a single fuse, the base contacts for which are enclosed by the recessed parts. In constructing, a distribution fuse-board, blocks a having side recesses a', a<4> are distended on supporting rods h between end plates i. A bus-bar composed of two strips d separated by distance pieces e at intervals is threaded through holes in the blocks in alinement with the upper recesses a<4>, and the upper blades of the fuse carrier pass between and contact with the strips d. The bus-bar is positioned laterally by means of the cable connexion g which is received in and covered bv a recess in another block f which lies over the rods h. The separate fuse contacts c are held between the lower recesses a<1> and access to them may be gained by removing the block f and sliding the required blocks a along their bearers h. The base blocks employed for a single fuse are formed at each end with similar recesses a<1>, as shown in Fig. 5. Cooperating circular projections a<7>, b<3> may be formed on the base blocks and fuse bridges respectively to seal the fuse connexions.
