Abstract
154,343. Royston, E. R., (Federal Storage Battery Co.). Aug. 30, 1919. Electrodes; separators; cells; gas exits.-The electrode plates of a storage battery are arranged radially, one set 12 being connected together at the bottom by a plug 13 and at the top by the terminal post 14. The plates 19 of the other electrode are provided with lugs 20 which are connected to a ring 21 carrying the terminal post 22. The inner edges of the plates 19 fit into grooves in separators 25 as shown in plan in Fig. 4. The ring 21 is formed with an opening 23 below the filling-plug and gas exit 17. The cover consists of two plates 15, 15a sealed together and to the jar by a rubber or other fusible compound 15b.
