154,021. Juhlin, G. A., and Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co. Sept. 18, 1919. Commutators; commutation, improving by means of air blast.-In a dynamo-electric machine having a radial commutator 6 and a fan 1 arranged adjacent to the commutator face between the armature core and the bearing, segmental plates 7 are located between the brushholders in a plane parallel with the commutator face to direct the air blast across the commutator. Radial barriers projecting between adjacent brush-arms towards the commutator may be carried by the plates 7.
