Abstract

1537175 Expansion anchors ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 19 April 1977 [29 April 1976] 16176/77 Heading F2H An anchor device comprises a sleeve 20 having one or more longitudinal slots and which is expanded by a tapered member 30 threaded on the leading end of a bolt 10. The bolt has a shank of approximately the same diameter as the sleeve which has gripping means such as deflected corners 28. The expander member 30 has projections to engage the sleeve and prevent relative rotation and its conical surface has a steeper taper at the lower end. The transition 11 between the upper shank and the threaded part of the bolt 10 may be conical (preferably having an included angle of about 60 degrees) to expand the upper end of the sleeve 20.
