Abstract

1536355 Collapsible containers K DAHMEN 9 July 1976 [10 July 1975] 28635/76 Heading B8P [Also in Division F2] A collapsible container comprises a bottom panel having an upwardly extending peripheral frame 2 leaving the corners 5 free, the end edges of the frame having formations 6 which interfit with formations 8 on bottom corner pieces 7, the pieces having holes 9 at different levels for side panel pivot-pins 10 and upper pieces 12 which interfit with the vertical edges of the side panels 3. Extensions of the upper pieces serve as pivot supports for a lid 4. Pins (15, Fig. 6, not shown) mounted in the peripheral frame engage holes in the side panels, which are first attached to the bottom corner pieces, tilted inward and the assembly then engaged with the bottom panel. The side panels are then erected, engaging the pins and the upper pieces 12 engaged with the side panel edges. In a modification, shown in Fig. 7, curved bottom corner pieces are provided, the edges of the side panels are curved and have shoulders sitting on top of the corner pieces and the upper pieces are not used.
