Abstract

1534672 Valves CHAN KWAN SHIU & LEUNG WING KWONG [Trading as WING KEE ENTERPRISES CO] 11 Jan 1977 00895/77 Heading F2V In a flow cut-off device for a gas duct, the flow normally passes from inlet 1 and through ports H1, H2 to outlet 2. However, if the downstream pipeline should rupture, the larger mass flow will create a pressure build-up in chamber 3 and this will lift a ball J up against seating G to cut off the flow. Plunger A is used to force the ball away from the seating when the fault has been remedied. Alignment of different sets of the ports H1, H2 can be achieved by rotationally adjusting regulator D, to vary the flow cross-section through the device.
