Abstract

1534570 Venting closures DENROY PLASTICS Ltd 20 Oct 1977 [24 Dec 1976] 54181/76 Heading B8T A closure which provides venting comprises a cap 10, as shown a screw cap, provided with a central aperture 11, and a plastics disc 14 having a central portion 15 of relatively greater flexibility than the remainder in which is provided a diametrical slit 17 whose width increases in a direction away the crown of cap 10. As shown, the portion 15 is formed by recessing the disc, and the disc 14 is attached to the cap by snap-fitting into an annular groove 13 where it assumes a bowed configuration concave to the crown of the cap. Preferably aperture 11 diverges inwardly.
