Abstract

1533973 Offshore structures BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 4 Dec 1975 [4 Dec 1974] 52401/74 Heading E1H An offshore structure of the tethered buoyant platform type comprises a rigid tubular member 1, a buoyancy member 2, a ballast chamber 3 and a helical connector 21 which is suitable for the flow of fluids therethrough and is for connection to a sea bed member 22. Mooring lines 4 are maintained in tension and cables 24 terminate at their upper ends on tensioning devices The structure is transported horizontally and then ballasted to a vertical position. It may be used as a support for a flare or a mooring point for a tanker. For Figure see next column
