1425593 Mooring marine structures DEEP OIL TECHNOLOGY Inc 19 Oct 1973 48878/73 Heading B7S [Also in Division E1] A floating offshore structure is moored by a plurality of tension means 23, e.g. cables or chains, secured to the structure and to hollow ballastable anchors 20, 21, the tension means 23 being pre-tensioned, when the structure and anchors are in position, by winches on the structure, so that the tension means remain in tension even under the severest anticipated wave conditions. The anchors travel in a deballasted condition nested under the structure and on site are ballasted with water and lowered to the sea-bed.
