Abstract

1532605 Pneumatic pressure systems VDO ADOLF SCHINDLING AG 11 July 1977 [12 July 1976] 28920/77 Heading F1P A pneumatic actuator 1, Fig. 1, is operated by pulses from a vacuum pump 2 which are alternately above and below atmospheric pressure, and the piston-rod 11 is held in its extreme positions by the diaphragm 8 which has a snap action. A valve 3 provides the pulses. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the pulses are produced by reversing the vacuum pump and a resilient detent engages notches in the piston-rod to hold it in the end of stroke position. The pulse changeover may be electrically controlled by switches operated by the actuator.
