Abstract

1532536 Container traffic; hooding docks; moving loads HANNAN & SONS PTY Ltd 23 June 1976 26197/76 Headings B8Q B8B and B8E Apparatus for the removal of containers from rail vehicles or other trucks comprises wheels 32 having means which can be inserted into and locked in the comer fittings by a twist lock boss 38 and a boss 50 to engage corner fittings perpendicular to each other. A support means 25 comprises rails 29 with ramps 27. With wheels fitted to each corner of the container a vehicle is backed between the rails 29 so that as the wheels run up the ramps 27 the container is lifted from the vehicle and is supported by the rails so that the vehicle can be withdrawn. A movable floor section 31 allows the vehicle wheels to be moved transversly to align the wheels 32 with the rails 29.
