Abstract

1431035 Securing containers on vehicles FRUEHAUF CORP 22 Nov 1974 [29 March 1974] 50674/74 Headings B8E and B8Q A vehicle having laterally spaced conveyers on its load platform comprising rollers 15 and conveyer chains 30 is provided with restraining means between the conveyer elements to hold containers of less width than the platform. The restraining means comprise a hook 42 urged by a spring 46 to a position in which it engages the flanges 33 of a container but which is depressable below the conveyer elements by a container of full width bridging the space between the conveyer elements these engaging a shoe 55 connected to the hook. Side rails 36 with top hooks 38 restrain the container at the side of the platform while the shoe 55 in its raised engaging position has faces to restrain the other side of a container.
