Abstract

The multi-purpose lorry chassis has two parallel longitudinal members (1,2) having a useful length of at least 6 metres, and supporting at least three cross-members (3,4) with a useful length of at least 2.50 metres. One of the cross-members at least is adjustable for position. Thus the chassis conforms to international standards for transporting freight containers, but also allows another vehicle or various goods to be carried. Each cross-member can have at the ends components (8,9) forming anchorage points and also sockets (7,8) to accommodate racks etc.
