1532162 Accessing instructions INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 11 May 1977 [19 May 1976] 19809/77 Heading G4A Programs in a control store 30 (Fig. 4) are accessed in a sequence indicated by program pointers in store 34 (each program pointer including a section indicating the address of the next program to be used), the pointer relating to a program which is to be stopped being stored in a register 61 and compared with the sequence of program pointers in comparator 26, at equality a latch 52 being set to enable circuit 25 to substitute the pointer of a selected program for the stored program pointer. A program may be stopped when a particular instruction address is detected by comparator 48.
