The chronograph hour counter 121 is a 24 hour counter and the hour counter 6 may be a 12 or 24 hour counter. Transmission gate circuits 141, 151, 161 controlled by output signals from ring-connected flip-flops in a circuit 131 stepped by successive closures of a manually operable switch, connect the outputs of either the time of day counters or the chronograph counters to a de-coder 7 for display on an LCD or LED numeric display device 8. A control circuit 91 detailed Fig. 5 (not shown) includes flip-flops in a ring circuit which are stepped by successive closures of another manually operable switch, to produce signals which reset the chronograph counters to zero, and then control an AND gate to start and subsequently stop the feed of 1Hz pulses from the divider to the chronograph counters. A conventional circuit 70 is for setting the time of day indication to the correct time.
