Abstract

1530354 Rotary mowers OUTBOARD MARINE CORP 2 March 1976 [6 March 1975] 08236/76 Heading AIF The two rotors of the mower are arranged so that cutting blade 23 discharges grass clippings to rotor 21 which discharges all the cut grass via the top chute 125 or side opening 111. A wall 105 depending from the mower housing extends for 270‹ around cutter blade 23 to merge at one end into a straight portion 103 which directs clippings to blade 21. The wall further extends around cutter 21 at 109 whereby the cuttings are guided to the top or the side discharge openings. The blades have raised vanes 91, 93 to create a fanning action, the vane 91 being of greater extent to increase the clipping conveying capacity of the blade 21. Alternatively the cutter 21 may be rotated at a faster speed than cutter 23.
