Abstract

A flat strip of metal has a hole for mounting on the motor shaft. This hole is off centre, the greater length (27) being provided with a single cutting edge (26) part way along one side. The shorter length (24) is bent upwards (25), the final length (20) being parallel to the cutting side. Each side of this final length has a flange (23), bent downwards at right angles. These flanges are necessary to give the correct weight distribution for equilibrium; they also act as ventilator blades and clear away the grass when cut. The reduced working radius reduces the operating noise level of the blades. The system prevents clogging of wet grass and provides for better speed of operation.
