Abstract

1530273 Valves UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 25 June 1976 [23 May 1975] 22886/75 Heading F2V [Also in Division H1] The flow of Na in a Na-S cell is reduced (Division H1) if the temperature becomes excessive by a valve having a plunger 64, which is held in the open position by a wire 60 against springs 74, and which restricts the flow, when the wire creeps due to the rise in temperature. Alternatively, when the vapour pressure of the sulphur rises a bellows (Fig. 5, not shown) operates a valve to restrict the flow of Na.
