Abstract

1529233 Yarn storage feeder; tensioning means LAWSON-HEMPHILL INC 29 Nov 1975 49180/75 Heading D1J Yarn tensioning means for a yarn storage feeder having a storage drum comprises two axially spaced yarn tensioning rings, each ring comprising a base ring for surrounding a storage drum and having bristle-like flexible elements extending inwardly from and out of the plane of the ring to be contiguous in use with the drum surface, spacing means extending from one of the base rings to space the ring to avoid contact between the flexible elements. Yarn Y, Fig. 1, is drawn from stationary or rotating drum 10 over fingers 27 of two or more rings 25 having integral annular ribs 28 to space the rings. Each rib may be replaced by arcuately spaced protuberances. Each ring, preferably of plastics material, has circumferentially extending fingers, Fig. 2, and is supported on preferably metal ring 20 pivotable downwards on detentlocked pin 22 for tension ring placement. The tension rings are free to move angularly and radially of the drum.
